Injury Plagued Westfield Takes Two

The Westfield Blue Devil Icemen overcame a number of injuries to post two consecutive wins over President's weekend.

Westfield 6, Dayton 0: On Saturday night, the Blue Devils concluded their regular season with a convincing 6-0 victory over the Dayton Bulldogs. Junior defenseman Liam Devin opened the scoring in the middle of the first period with a slapshot from the point, assisted by senior defenseman Kyle Heron.

However, sophomore Bulldog netminder Bailey Rudolph stood tall, turning aside the next 20 Blue Devil shots until sophomore Anderson Eckert banged home a wraparound late in the 2nd to make the score 2-0 Westfield after two periods.

Devin scored again in the first minute of the 3rd and Eckert notched his second off sophomore defenseman Doug Clarkson's feed to extend the Blue Devil lead to 4-0. Junior Nick Grawehr and sophomore Andrew Stern also tallied for Westfield while senior TJ Grasso recorded the shutout in net.
