Have Questions for Your BOE Candidates? Submit Them Now

Ginny Leiz, Jonathan Blitt, Mitchell Slater and J. Brendan Galligan are vying for three school board seats.

Have some questions you'd like answered by Westfield Board of Education candidates before the Nov. 5 election?

Now is your chance to submit them and possibly have them answered when the Parent Teacher Council will once again sponsor a candidates night featuring the four candidates, Ginny Leiz, Jonathan Blitt, Mitchell Slater and J. Brendan Galligan, who are vying for three positions of the Board.

Candidates Night will begin at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 16 in the Westfield High School auditorium.

"At this time, we appeal to all parents and taxpayers to submit questions you would like to see asked of the candidates at this forum," the PTC wrote in a press release.  "Topics must be related to only school operations (not town issues) and must be general in nature such that all four candidates will respond—no personal or candidate specific questions will be accepted. Please send your candidate questions to Ruth Maloney at rewm3@aol.com no later than Friday, Oct. 4.

"Additionally, we hope you will set aside the evening of Oct. 16th to come hear the candidates for yourself and become informed prior to election day."

Questions can be sent also be directed to Maloney at the email address above.

The PTC thanked the community in advance for "helping us make this a valuable interaction between candidates and those they serve."
