Gretchan Ohlig, who was to fill a vacancy left by former president Julia Walker, also submitted a petition to remain on the Board. Both current members will fill three-year seats that begin in 2013.

Residents and J. Brendan Galligan also submitted nomination petitions. Biegler will occupy a three-year seat, while Galligan’s term will be for one year.

Petitioners were required to submit the necessary documents by 4 p.m. on June 5, as mandated by the New Jersey School Boards Association. Each nomination petition included signatures of at least 10 qualified voters living within the district.

One of the seats on the Board is available due to Jane Clancy's . David Finn also chose not to pursue another term.

How can all you Patch addicts sit and write criticisms of the BOE every week and no one is stepping up to try to do a better job? Sure they aren't perfect, but rather than criticize, how about taking action and getting involved? Quite a reflection of our society now a days. Hide behind a screen name. Blast volunteers. And to not do anything to become a change agent? Pathetic.
