Preparing for Your Child's IEP: Know Your Legal Rights and Learn to Advocate for your Child
Once your child is classified and an Individual Educational Plan(IEP) is developed, you will meet with your child's team at least annually to discuss your child's goals and objectives. Hillary Freeman, Esq.,an attorney and member of Hinkle, Fingles & Prior, with experience representing parents before Administrative agencies and Superior Court in special educaton issues will assist parents with the tools to effectively advocate for their child at these meetings. This presentations is offerred by the Westfield Parent-Teacher Council-Special Education Committee. The parent committee and support group will meet at 7:00PM prior to this presentation. The program is free and no registration is required.
