Lincoln Center Chairwoman to Speak at Library

 

            “What’s New at Lincoln Center” will be the topic at the next talk scheduled in the fifth annual Anne M. Hale Speaker Series at Westfield Memorial Library.

            The speech, set for Monday, May 7, at 7 p.m., will be given by former Westfield resident Katherine Farley, the chairwoman of Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, and senior managing director of Tishman Speyer, an international real estate development and property management firm.

            Farley, who has been involved with Lincoln Center since 1999, previously served on the Lincoln Center Theatre Board and as chair of the Center’s Redevelopment project. She is a  former member of the board of trustees of Brown University, where she received her undergraduate degree. She also holds an MFA in architecture from the Harvard Graduate School of Design. She is chair emerita of Women in Need, and serves on the International Rescue Committee’s  Board of Overseers.

            The speaker is the sister of Dr. Thomas Farley, the NYC health commissioner who previously spoke as part of the Hale series. They are the children of the late “Mike” Farley, who was the first president of the Friends of Westfield Memorial Library, the group that hosts the popular series.

            The series is named after the late Anne M. Hale, who was a library patron and active member of the Westfield community. Funding comes from grants provided by the Thomas Glasser Foundation and the Anne and Lee Hale Fund.
