The Therapeutic Massage & Training Center, 560 Springfield Avenue, Westfield is hosting a knit and crochet class. Taught by Jean Miller, a.k.a. The Knit Witch, the classes will be held for beginners and beyond on the following four Wednesdays in June: 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th from 10:30 am to noon.
Students can learn to knit and/or crochet or sharpen their skills. The classroom is on the second floor. The building, located about ½ mile from Union County College, in the same building as the Summit Medical Center, across from the entrance to Echo Lake Park. There has an elevator, and free parking in the back.
Those interested can email TheKnitWitch@aol.com. All questions will be answered, as well as what materials to bring to the class. “There is no age limit. The last time we held this summer session, we had students from ages 15 through 75. Best of all, no one has to sign up for a series of classes --- these are “come when you can” sessions. Cost per session is $10.
Jean Miller currently teaches knit and crochet at Union County College and Westfield Adult School where she has been teaching for the past nine years. “One of the most rewarding by-products of the classes is that students meet new people and become friends. We have a lot of fun,” Jean said. Students work at their own pace, and they can make whatever they want because beginner patterns are provided, or students can bring their own. All are welcome.
