Ed Fund of Westfield Presents Rock 4 Schools Saturday

Evening of live music starts at 6 p.m.

Looking for some family fun that involves live music, food and friends? The Education Fund of Westfield is hosting its second annual Rock 4 Schools from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2 at the Crossroads in Garwood.

Fresh off their weekend 'Toy HiSTORY' performances, the Washington School Band will take the stage along with Jen Davis & Friends, 3rd Gear, The Crash Combo and Pending.

These local bands are donating their time to help the Ed Fund raise money to fulfill grant requests from the Westfield public school district. Over $30,000 in grant money was provided to the schools throughout the district this past year alone and over $300,000 has been allocated since 1992, according to the Fund's website. The Education Fund encourages proposals from the professional staff in all curriculum areas as well as extracurricular activities that can enrich student life.

Other fundraisers this year include a picture book for all ages,  which follows the blue mascot through town as he visits each of the district's 10 schools to gather information before making a graduation day speech. Next up, the Fund's annual wine tasting will take place starting at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 27 at Echo Lake Country Club.

Tickets for Rock 4 Schools are $50 per person, which includes drinks and light dinner fare and are available online at westfieldnj.com/edfund
