BOE Holds Neighborhood Outreach Meeting Tonight

Discussions regarding the proposed lighted turf field will begin at 7 p.m.

Westfield's  will hold a neighborhood outreach meeting at 7 p.m. tonight in the  cafeteria to address residents' concerns regarding the proposed installation a  at WHS. 

BOE President Rich Mattessich, facilities committee chair Jane Clancy and Westfield schools athletics supervisor Sandy Mamary will host the meeting. 

Amid residents' concerns about noise, additional traffic and the potential glare of the proposed lights, the Board voted to move ahead with plans for the field at its May 15 meeting.

The field comes with a $3.3 million price tag and would be funded by part of an upcoming $16 million bond referendum, which will also cover a  replacement project, to be voted on in September.
