Biunno Named Principal of Westfield’s McKinley School

Biunno will replace Matthew Bolton, who has accepted the position of Principal of Westfield's Edison Intermediate Schoo

Marc Biunno has been unanimously approved by the as the new Principal of . His appointment is effective August 13.  Biunno will replace Matthew Bolton, who has accepted the position of Principal of Westfield’s, replacing Cheryl O’Brien, who is retiring.

Biunno was selected from among 90 applicants in the tri-state area. He began his career in Westfield as a Language Arts and Journalism teacher at nine years ago. He was presented with the Intermediate Teacher of the Year award while at Roosevelt. Since January 2011, he has held the role of Assistant Principal of Hillside Avenue School in Cranford.

Biunno earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Delaware, where he was named Student Teacher of the Year, and a Masters degree in educational leadership from the College of New Jersey.

In commenting on the appointment, Superintendent of Schools Margaret Dolan, said, “I welcome Mr. Biunno back to become an educational leader for our children. I am very pleased to recommend him as the principal for McKinley School.”

"I am ecstatic to join McKinley School, which has an excellent reputation of caring for students and making their school experience wonderful,” stated Biunno.  “Coming back to Westfield in this role is a dream come true, and I cannot wait to get started," he added.
