Where Will You Vote? Roof Repairs Cause Special Election Polling Changes

Union County Election Board confirms one-time location changes.

On Tuesday, Aug. 13, Westfield residents will go to the polls to vote in the primary election to fill Sen. Frank Lautenberg's seat.

But due to roof repairs and replacements at three Westfield schools, residents who vote at Roosevelt Intermediate School, Washington Elementary School and Westfield High School will face a one-time polling change.

According to the Union County Election Board, the changes are as follows:

  • Washington School voters will vote at Wilson School.
  • Roosevelt Intermediate School voters will vote at Franklin School.
  • Westfield High School voters will vote at Jefferson School

All polls will be open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Aug. 13. The regular election will take place Wednesday, Oct. 16.

The election is the special primary for the U.S. Senate seat left vacant following Lautenberg's death on June 3.
