Traffic Alert: Central Avenue Roadwork Causes Delays

Road work on Central Avenue has caused traffic back-ups on several south side roads on Wednesday afternoon.

Central Avenue, headed towards downtown from Clark Township, is closed at Cacciola Place for on-going road work related to water pipes in the area and upgrades to the roadway. Traffic headed to downtown is detoured on to Cacciola Place at the intersection, causing back-ups.

Traffic along Central between Grove and Cacciola has been bumper to bumper, along with traffic on Cacciola Place. Traffic on South Avenue westbound from the Lincoln/Mercury dealership to Central Avenue has been slow moving due to the road work. Drivers attempting to make a left from Cacciola to South Avenue are facing delays.

Cars on Cacciola are attempting to pass on the right in order to make a right hand turn on to Stirling in order to access Livingston to go to South Avenue.
