Skibitsky and Council Make Appointments to Volunteer Boards

The Town Council filled numerous posts on volunteers town boards and committees during Tuesday evening's reorganization meeting.

The appointments varied from the Planning Board to seats on the communications advisory board. Some were filled by long time board members, while others were filled by newcomers. In his appointments, Mayor Andy Skibitsky handed seats on the library board to two unsuccessful Republican candidates for Town Council. Eric Leuthold, who lost to former Fourth Ward Councilman Tom Bigosinski in 2005, and Tom Delaney who lost the 2009 race to Third Ward Councilman Dave Haas, will both seats on that board.

The reorganization also saw a departure of a long time member of the Recreation Commission. Bill Palatucci, who is a former commission chairman and a longtime Republican strategist, announced his departure before his term on the panel expired.
