Assemblyman Green backs Carter to replace Van Blake on Democratic ticket.
Assemblyman Jerry Green (D-Plainfield) has endorsed Plainfield Councilwoman Linda Carter for the Democratic nomination for county freeholder this year. Carter is being endorsed to replace Freeholder Rayland Van Blake of Plainfield on the Democratic ticket. County Democratic officials informed Van Blake on Monday that they would not be supporting him for reelection.
If backed by other county Democrats, Carter would join incumbents Dan Sullivan of Elizabeth and Bette Jane Kowalski of Cranford on the ticket.
