PolitickerNJ: Kean Does Not Rule Out U.S. Senate Race

Senate Minorty Leader Tom Kean Jr. (R-Westfield) has not ruled out a challenge to U.S. Sen. Robert Menendez (D-Hoboken) in the 2012 election. Kean was the unsuccessful Republican nominee against Menendez in 2006, a race which the Democrat won with 53% of the vote, versus 44% for the Republican. State Sen. Joseph Kyrillos (R-Monmouth County) has formed an exploratory committee to challenge Menendez in 2012.
