Freeholder retires after 12 years.
Union County Freeholder Chairman Alexander Mirabella presents a special resolution to Freeholder Chester Holmes thanking him and honoring him for his years of public service during his last meeting as a freeholder. Holmes, a freeholder for 12 years, announced his retirement in March. Holmes, a Rahway resident, served more than 49 years in the public sector as a police office, Rahway councilman and freeholder.
Holmes will be succeeded next month by Freeholder-elect Mohammod Jalloh of Roselle.
