Flu Vaccine Available Through NJ Public Health Departments

Clifton Health Department holds flu clinic from 2 to 4 p.m. today.

The New Jersey Department of Health continues to report high flu activity throughout Union County. As it is the middle of flu season, the Department of Health advises that the best tool to safeguard against becoming ill is to receive an influenza vaccination.

While the Westfield Regional Health Department has exhausted its supply of flu vaccine, other resources are available. Public health nurse Leslie Leonard, RN, BSN of the Clifton Health Department, noted that while many New Jersey residents are familiar with links such as Find a Flu Shot Locator, Minute Clinic. com, www.njpublichealth.com offers direct access to making appointments at over 14 health departments, many of which still have flu vaccine.

The Clifton Health Department, located at 900 Clifton Avenue, will hold at clinic from 2 to 4 p.m. today. Call 973-470-5760  for more information.
