Election Results Certified, Winners Stay the Same

All Westfield candidates see vote totals go up after final tally.

The Union County Board of Canvassers has certified the results of the 2009 election and Mayor Andy Skibitsky has been officially certified as the mayor for the next four years.

The official results show no changes in the winners in the Westfield races, with all of the winners declared on election night standing. The official results do show vote increases for each candidate in the town races. The difference in the results reflects the inclusion of all absentee, military and disputed ballots from the race. The official results have been posted on the county clerk's website.

In the mayor's race, the official results show Skibitsky defeating former Town Judge Bill Brennan, the Democratic nominee, by a result of 7,080 votes to 4,217 votes. On election night, the unofficial tally showed Skibitsky winning 6,714 to 3,927.
