All parking downtown will be free on Monday because of Columbus Day.
This includes all on street spaces and spaces in municipally owned parking lots, including the ones behind Starbucks and behind the James Ward Mansion.
According to Councilman Mark Ciarrocca, the law was rewritten several years ago to make sure federal holidays were included in the parking holiday in town. The previous local law covered holidays but did not specify federal holidays.
