CDC Video on H1N1 Vaccine

Video and webpage explain making of seasonal and H1N1 vaccines.

The Centers for Disease Control has released a webpage and video detailing the manufacturing of seasonal and H1N1 flu vaccines.

The CDC, which is overseeing the federal government's response to the flu situation, said on the website that the page and video are meant to explain how the two vaccines are made and the delays in distributing the vaccine.

Westfield Health Officer Megan Avallone has explained in the past that the CDC ordered drug companies to cease making the seasonal flu vaccine several months ago and focus exclusively on the H1N1 vaccine. The late start in making the H1N1 vaccine, according to Avallone, resulted in the current limit of distributing the vaccine to those only in the targeted population.
