With Snow In Forecast, Police Warn About Parking In Public Roads

Violators risk a ticket and a tow.

Westfield Police are putting out the word ahead of an expected snowfall this weekend that roads must be cleared for snowplows to do their work.

The department issued the following alert on Friday afternoon:

"In anticipation of the upcoming snowstorm, Chief David Wayman of the Westfield Police Department advises all residents that vehicles parked on public roadways for more than 48 hours are in violation of NJS 39:4-56.5 and are subject to a summons and may be towed."
