Westfield Teens Report Strong Arm Robbery Near McKinley School

Suspect fled after he was given $1.

A resident of the 100 block of Florence Avenue and a resident of the 100 block of Marion Avenue reported being victims of a strong arm robbery on First Street near Hyslip Avenue at 9:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 30, according to the Westfield Police Department.

An unknown suspect approached both individuals, ages 15 and 16, and demanded all of their belongings, according to police. One of the victims gave the suspect $1, which was all they had, the report stated.

The suspect, described as a white male, approximately 5'8" to 5'9" tall, 160 lbs with a stocky build, then fled on foot toward McKinley Elementary School.

He was wearing a black, hooded sweatshirt and a white scarf wrapped around his face, exposing only his eyes. 

Westfield Police Capt. Scott Rodger said the detective bureau is investigating.
