Westfielder, 21, Charged With DWI Following Cranford Crash

The following information was obtained from the Cranford Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Michael Kardias, 21, of Westfield was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated, according to Cranford Police.

At approximately 7:45 p.m. Saturday, April 20, police responded to the area of Orchard Street and Woodshole Road in Cranford and found Kardias'  2012 Jeep Liberty crashed into a utility pole. 

Following a brief search, Kardias was located a block from the crash scene. As a result of the on-scene investigation, Kardias was arrested for DWI and further charged with careless driving and leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident. He was processed and released pending a first appearance in Cranford Municipal Court.
