Police were alerted by a neighbor who called in to report suspicious activity in the area.

"The neighbor played a vital role in identifying the suspect and advising police of the crime," said Wayman. "It's vital that the community and the police work together to apprehend offenders. This is a perfect example of a neighbor watching out for their neighbors that led to the arrest of the suspect."

Wayman could not say if the suspect could be tied to any other home invasions in the area at this time.

On April 28, Clark police arrested Simmons in the vicinity of 76 Central Avenue for possession of CDS (controlled dangerous substances) with intent to distribute. Bail was set at $10,000 and Simmons was subsequently released after posting bail.
