Video: Albanian Officials Learn from Westfield

A group of police and education officials from Albania visit Westfield.

Tuesday's National Guard helicopter demonstration and DARE education presentation at Roosevelt Intermediate School brought a group of special visitors to Westfield.

A group of police and education officials from Tirana, Albania is in the United States learning about community policing strategies and how to implement community policiing models in the Albantian capital. During the visit to Westfield, the group was observing what the National Guard and police group was doing, how they have worked in local schools and utilizing Westfield as a role model for a new Albanian program.

The group included officials from the Albanian national police, the Tirana police and the education director for Tirana. Westfield Patch spoke, through a translator, with Arben Nasufi, a senior commanding police officer with the Tirana Police Department to learn his thoughts about what he has been learning in Westfield.
