Two Burglaries Last Friday

Attempt to kick in front door of house.

Police responded to a burglary and an attempted burglary at two homes off of Central Avenue on Dec. 4.

The police responded to a burglar alarm on the 200 block of Connecticut Street. After arriving the police observed what appeared to be a burglary. There was evidence that there was an attempt to kick in the front door of the residence.

Shortly after, a resident of the 300 block of Massachusetts Street reported a burglary to their residence. Unknown actor(s) entered the house through an unlocked rear door. The burglary appeared to be recent and the Union County Sheriff was contacted to send in the K-9 unit. The K-9 unit did a search of the area and could not find the actor(s).

The burglaries occurred in the same neighborhood as a burglary on Grandview Avenue the following week. There were burglaries in the neighborhood earlier in the fall. It is unknown if the burglaries are connected to the other burglaries that have occurred in town over the past year.
