Teen Arrested in Embree Crescent Garage Burglary

Resident watched theft unfold from house, gave police detailed description.

An Embree Crescent resident's observation of a burglary in her garage on Tuesday led police to quickly arrest the teen identified as the suspect in the theft.

The resident, who lives on the 600 block of Embree Crescent, called police to report that she observed a 16-year old male entering her open detached garage without permission. The resident saw the suspect exit the garage with a $320 820 series mountain bike.

Using a description from the resident, police were able to recover the bike 15-20 minutes later and identify the suspect as a 16-year old Westfield resident. The suspect was arrested and transported to the Westfield Police Department where he was charged with burglary and theft of a movable object. The suspect was released to the custody of his father.
