Residential Burglary, Thefts from Car and Lodge

No sign of forced entry in residential burglary.

A home was burglarized last week, along with reports of a large cash theft from a local lodge and a car window being smashed in.

On Oct. 6, a resident of the 400 block of First Street reported a burglary. The resident had found a first floor kitchen window and screen open with no signs of forced entry. The walk-in closet on the second floor was ransacked and a drawer in the dining room was opened and rummaged through. It is not known what is missing from the house.

On Oct. 7, the police received a call reporting a theft from a motor vehicle on the 600 block of Nottingham Place. A side window on the car was found smashed and $700 in property was taken from the car.

On Oct. 11, the Centennial Lodge on West Broad Street reported that $3,000 in cash was taken from a cash box in the lodge. The theft occurred between Oct. 2 and Oct. 6. The case has been referred to the detective bureau for investigation.
