Rahway Man Arrested for Terroristic Threats

Man threatened Westfield resident with death.

Police arrested Ronald Villa of Rahway on Sept. 24 on charges of making terroristic threats. Villa is accused of threatening to kill a Westfield resident and his child. Bail has been set at $20,000 and Villa has been transported to the Union County Jail in Elizabeth.

Under state law a terroristic threat is the threat of a crime of violence which will terrorize another person. A threat of violence which terrorizes a building can also be considered a terroristic threat. A police source said a threat needs to be credible in order for an arrest to be made. The alleged death threat in the Villa case was deemed credible by police.

A police investigation is on-going in the Villa case.
