PSE&G Reports 58,000 Without Power in Union County

Utility says could take up to five days to restore power in county.

PSE&G is reporting that 58,000 customers are without power throughout Union County due to Hurricane Irene.

The power company said the county total is part of an estimated 313,000 customers around New Jersey who have lost power as the hurricane slammed the state overnight.

PSE&G spokeswoman Erica Lembo said that the utility has not compiled a complete list of communities and streets that have been impacted by power loss. Among the communities where residents have been reporting power loss are Westfield, Cranford, Scotch Plains and Fanwood.
