Prospect Street Home Site of Second Lawn Ornament Theft

Decorations valued at $550.

A resident of the 1000 block of Prospect Street called police on Dec. 13 to report that three Christmas ornaments were stolen from the front lawn of the home. The theft appears to have occurred on either Dec. 12 or Dec. 13. The resident estimated the ornaments to be valued at $550.

This is the second theft of lawn ornaments this month. On Dec. 5, a resident of Cumberland Street reported $100 in decorations for the holidays stolen from the front lawn. It is not known if the two cases are connected and none of the lawn ornaments have been found. There are no suspects in the cases and the detective bureau is investigating the thefts.

On "mischief night" in October, before Halloween, non-holiday-related lawn ornaments were stolen from a private residence in town.
