Police Respond to Thefts of Signs and Cash

Westfield police responded to two reports of thefts in the last week.

On April 1, a local business owner, who is also a town resident, called police to report the theft of numerous advertising signs around the town. The thefts occurred between March 23 and April 1. The signs stolen are valued at $210.

On April 2, an Elizabeth resident reported the theft of $83 in cash from a wallet which was located on the center console of his car. At the time of the theft, the car was being stored at Tower's Facility on the 400 block of South Avenue East.

Both matters remain under investigation by the detective bureau.
