Police Blotter: Woman Arrested for Waking Neighborhood, Unsecured Bike Stolen on Lawrence

A look at the week in police activity.

A woman screaming obscenities in the middle of the night, a stolen power cutter and the theft of an unsecured bicycle dominated police activity in the past week. This activity was mized with routine police business including warrant arrests for this and other jurisdictions.

July 29

A resident of Winfield Park reported criminal mischief to their vehicle in the form of scratches to the driver's side door. The car was parked on Washington Street just off of Central Avenue at the time of the incident, which occurred between 12:30 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. The damage was caused by an unknown tool and the amount of the damage is unknown.

July 30

Ishnael Harrison, 23, of Roselle was arrested on South Avenue West and Tuttle Parkway on an Elizabeth warrant. He was transported to headquarters an held on default of bail.

An assault was reported on the 100 block of Elm.

The owner of a construction company reported the theft of a Makita 73cc 14 inch gas power cutter from a job site located on the 700 block of Boulevard. The theft occurred between July 26 and July 27. The value is $900.

July 31

A theft was reported on the 700 block of Lawrence.

A resident of the 500 block of Lawrence reported the theft of a bike while it was left unsecured on the lawn. It is described as a Blue "Trek" mountain bike valued at $200. There were no witnesses.

Aug. 2

Rytis Vaitekonis, 22, of Elizabeth was arrested on a  Woodbridge warrant in the amount of $750. He was unable to post bail.

Aug. 3

Manual Serpa, Jr., 26 of South Amboy was arrested at the Middlesex Borough police on a $68 Westfield warrant. He was unable to post bail and placed in cell one.

Aug. 4

Julia Diaz of Hackensack was arrested for disorderly conduct and resisting arrest at Putnum and Oak. The police had received a call about a suspicious person and found Diaz at the scene screaming obscenities and waking up the neighborhood around 4 a.m.

Aug 5

A resident of the 1000 block of Central Avenue reported an incident of credit card fraud.
