Police Blotter: Warrant Arrests and Stolen WHS Blackberry Mark Week

Police respond to various crimes around town.

Sept. 16

  • Lisa Reid of Garwood was arrested on a New Providence warrant.
  • Eric Arnold, 40, of Roselle was arrested on a $580 warrant from Elizabeth during a motor vehicle stop at West Fourth Street and Hort.
  • Christopher Seto, 20, and Alan Truman, 21, of Springfield were arrested following a disturbance call on the 500 block of Cumberland Street. Truman was arrested for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia and Seto was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.
  • Bruna Morales, 27, of West Orange was arrested on a Clark warrant following a motor vehicle stop at North Avenue West and Elm Street.
  • A business on the 500 block of Springfield Avenue reported the theft of money and personal checks over a period of time. There were several attempts made to use the checks. All of these were unsuccessful and the detective bureau is investigating.

Sept. 18

  • Shaheed Sprvill, 25, of Plainfield was arrested following a motor vehicle stop at South Avenue and Boulevard on a $655 Plainfield warrant and a $285 Annandale warrant. He was transported to Plainfield after being unable to post bail.
  • Harold Lawson, 28, of Elizabeth was arrested on a $500 Westfield warrant.

  • Isreal Rivera, 23, of Hyattsville, MD was arrested during a motor vehicle stop on the 300 block of North Avenue East for a $139 warrant from Somerville.
  • Brandon Underhill West, 20, of Westfield was arrested on two contempt of court warrants, one traffic warrant and one criminal warrant, all from Westfield. He posted $850 in bail.

Sept. 20

  • Anthony Cocaneri, 43, of Garwood was arrested for DWI, refusal to submit to an alcohol test and possession of prescription drugs. He was released to a responsible adult.
  • Yasminah Sears, 23, of Newark was arrested during a motor vehicle stop for hindering her own apprehension. She was also arrested for a $638 Watchung warrant, a $2500 Woodbridge warrant and a $500 Cranbury warrant.
  • A Westfield resident handed police $18 in U.S. currency which they had found in the road at East Broad Street and Central Avenue. The police cannot determine ownership of the cash and have placed the money into the vault.
  • Glenn Edmonds, 60, of Roselle was arrested on a $250 East Orange warrant and a $150 Roselle warrant. The arrests followed an investigation on the 100 block of Elm Street. In lieu of bail, Edmonds was placed in cell two.
  • A resident of Summit reported the theft of a black wristlet wallet while she set it down while shopping in a clothing store on the 100 block of Quimby.

  • Edward M. Karmin, 25, of Westfield was arrested at Gallows Hill Road and St. Marks Avenue on a $245 Westfield warrant.
  • A 16 year old student at Westfield High School and her father reported that a Blackberry Storm was stolen from an unsecured gym locker at the high school. The item is valued at $220.
  • Bashiva Clay, 43, was arrested at the Cranford Police Department on a $100 warrant from Westfield and a $225 warrant from Roselle.
  • A resident on the 100 block of Scotch Plains Avenue reported finding a window broken by a small stone found inside her house. The window is on the first floor of the house.
