Police Blotter: Thefts from WHS and South Avenue Business, Drugs in Stoneleigh

Westfield police handled a series of routine arrests, along with a theft on South Avenue and several drug related crimes during the past week. The police also saw a theft from the high school, the second reported this month.

May 19

A Westfield High School student reported the theft of a Vera Bradley wristlet bag containing a driver's license, keys and a debit card from the high school. The value was $32.

May 20

Roxanne Mercado, 25, of Westfield was arrested on the 100 block of Marlboro Street on a $35 Springfield warrant.

May 21

Angelo Iandoli, 23, of Toms River was arrested on a $750 Westfield warrant at Cranford police headquarters. He was transported to Westfield and placed in cell 1 in lieu of bail.

Matthew Love, 33, of Garwood was arrested at South Avenue West and Windsor Street during a motor vehicle stop on a no bail warrant from the sheriff of Union County. While being processed, officers discovered he was in possession of a controlled dangerous substance and CDS paraphernalia. He was arrested for possession of illegal drugs as well.

Kieron Quallo of Westfield was arrested at police headquarters on a $89 warrant from Hillside.

There was a report of a theft from a business on the 1200 block of South Avenue West. A white male actor took merchandise valued at less than $50 and pushed his way past the store manager and fled the scene.

May 22

Steven Lesiak, 34, of Westfield was arrested for DWI following a motor vehicle stop at Wells and Coolidge.

Jean C. Joseph, 31, of Roselle was arrested at police headquarters on a $178 warrant.

May 23

Michael Zbikowski, 26, was arrested at police headquarters on a outstanding warrant from Westfield. He posted $91 bail.

James Lacy, 19, of Westfield was arrested for under 50 grams of marijuana following an investigation in Stoneleigh Park. A further investigation led to charges of possession of marijuana with intent to distribute and possession of marijuana wiht intent to distribute within 1000 feet of a school zone. He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.

May 24

George Shuman III, 18, of Westfield was arrested on an outstanding traffic warrant. He posted bail.

May 25

Shane Edwards, 19, of Westfield was arrested on the 300 block of Livingston Street on a court warrant.
