Police Blotter: Shoplifting at Victoria's Secret, Bike Stolen from Franklin

Teens arrested at Brightwood Park for underage drinking.

Oct. 27

  • Michael DeFazio, 24, of Westfield turned himself to the police to satisfy a traffic warrant issued by Westfield. He paid $130 in bail and was released.
  • Henry Phillips, Jr., 49, of Newark was arrested in the area of South Avenue East and Central Avenue on a Princeton warrant in the amount of $200.

Oct. 29

  • Officers on patrol responded to a suspicious motor vehicle in Brightwood Park and found four underage persons drinking alcohol. Daniel DiRienzo, 19, of Scotch Plains was arrested for possession of alcohol and offering alcohol to minors. Three underage female juveniles were arrested for possession alcohol.
  • Jeffrey Shaw, 23, of Irvington was arrested at the Union Police Department on a $99 Westfield warrant.

  • Darell Limton, 19, of Scotch Plains and Jamel Sheppard, 20, of Scotch Plains were arrested for possession of controlled dangerous substance.

Oct. 31

  • The manager of Victoria's Secret reported the shoplifting of approximately $620 in women's items. The suspects were described as two Hispanic females.
  • A black leather wallet with three U.S. dollars, an international driver's license and a bank card was found in the 100 block of Elm Street by a Fanwood resident. The wallet and contents are in the police locker.

  • Katie Ladner, 32, of New Vernon was arrested on a $300 Union Township warrant after a motor vehicle stop at Rahway Avenue and Summit Court.
  • Stefra Urda, 56, of Avenel was arrested for driving while intoxicated after a motor vehicle investigation at East Broad Street and Springfield Avenue. He was transported to police headquarters and held in cell one until a responsible adult could pick him up.

Nov. 3

  • Pat Keville of Westfield was arrested with two juveniles for possession of marijuana during a motor vehicle stop at Central Avenue and North Avenue.
  • A Westfield resident reported the theft of a bicycle from Franklin School between Oct. 30 and Nov. 2. The bicycle was parked in the school bike racks at the time. The bike is described as a silver Bronco valued at $200.

Nov. 4

  • A Westfield resident turned in a wallet found in the area of 528 Downer Street described as a black three fold. The wallet contained personal identification and paperwork. The attempts to contact the owner were unsuccessful. The wallet and contents are secured in the police locker.
