Police Blotter: Routine Arrests Mark Week

A look at the week in crime.

Westfield Police have had an active week in handling a variety of routine arrests in the last week. The police also responded to several drug possession cases and a smashed car window. Two bicycle thefts were reported to police in the last week.

April 7

  • Lorraine K. Griggs, 32, of Elizabeth was arrested during a traffic stop at South Avenue East and Sussex Street. An investigation revealed a $258 Elizabeth warrant and a $500 Union Township warrant. She posted bail.
  • A resident of the 300 block of First Street reported that the front passenger window of their car was shattered between 3:30 p.m. and 5 p.m. on April 7. There are no suspects.
  • Jeffrey P. Pattoe, 23, of Rahway was arrested at West Broad Stret and Osborn and charged with possession of marijuana. He was given a summons.
  • April 8
  • Tyshan J. Jordan, 22, of Piscataway was arrested on warrants from Westfield and Cranford. He was held on bail.
  • Andrew Hilgea, 25, of Elizabeth was arrested at Central Avenue and Myrtle Street on a Springfield warrant. He was processed and released.
  • Jeffrey M. Ferguson, Jr., 35, of Kenilworth was arrested at Sussex Street and South Avenue East on a Montville warrant. He was processed and released.
  • Mile H. Lawson, 21, of Linden was arrested on the 1200 block of South Avenue on four Westfield warrants, a Scotch Plains warrant and a South Plainfield warrant. He was held in default of bail.

April 9

  • Janet Chumbiava, 31, of Roselle Park was arrested at South Avenue and Cumberland on a Cranford warrant.
  • Erica Smith, 39, of Linden was arrested at Sussex and South Avenue East on three Roselle warrants. She paid $150 in bail.
  • Shanteria Naylor, 20, of Irivington was arrested on the 600 block of South Avenue West during a motor vehicle stop for a $500 Union Township warrant. She posted bail.
  • Akeem Neray, 19, of Westfield was arrested on the 1100 block of Rahway Avenue during an investigation of a dispute in the area. He was charged with criminal mischief and resisting arrest. He was given a summons and held for a April 10 bail hearing.

April 10

  • Christopher M. Golias, 21, of Clark was arrested for DWI during an investigation at Central Avenue and Clifton Street. He was processed and released.
  • Ronald St. Juste, 25, of Newark was arrested at Central Avenue and Park Street on a Newark warrant.

April 11

  • Aleshin Wiseman, 31, of Elizabeth was arrested on a $71 Elizabeth warrant after a motor vehicle stop at Crossway and South Avenue.

April 12

  • Aaron Tobool of Springfield was arrested on a South Plainfield warrant.
  • Christopher McFadden of Linden was arrested on two Newark warrants while on the 100 block of Livingston Street.
