Police Blotter: Roselle Resident Arrested for Possession of Switchblade

A look at the week in police activity.

Police arrested a Roselle man for possession of a switchblade knife and arrested a group of three people for disordely conduct during a week of police activity here in Westfield. While a slower week, until the end when there was an attempted luring near Wilson School, police activity remained steady.

Sept. 10

There was a report of a theft on the 100 block of Prospect Street. The victime reported the theft of $8000 in credit card receipts from their place of business.

Sept. 11

Police arrested three men on the 300 block of South Avenue on disorderly persons offenses. Elias Cyado, 54, of Westfield was charged with failure to disperse; Louis Sanchez, 55, of Middletown was charged with failure to disperse; and Al Rispoli, 58, of Island Heights was charged with failure to disperse and resisting arrest. They were all issued summonses.

Sept. 13

Miguel I. Rios, 23, of Roselle was arrested for DWI following a motor vehicle stop on the 600 block of South Avenue. He was also charged with possession of a prohibited weapon - a switchblade knife. He was released with a summons.

Sept. 14

Brian Roach, 28, of Westfield was arrested on the 700 block of Clark Street on a $1176 warrant.
