Police Blotter: Residents Report Thefts, DWI Arrests Made

The following information was obtained from the Westfield Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

April 8: A resident of the 200 block of Avon Road reports being the victim of identity theft. The victim states that unknown suspect(s) attempted to gain access to the victim's accounts. As of now, no money has been taken.

A resident from the 200 block of Munsee Way states that unknown suspect(s) stole a piece of jewelry from the inside the residence. The victim states the jewelry is worth $115,000. There were no signs of forced entry.

April 11: At 6:59 a.m. a theft was reported in the 700 block of Central Avenue. An unknown suspect took approximately $170 in merchandise from a business and fled without paying.

Sonny Gjevukaj, 37, of Westfield was arrested for driving while intoxicated (DWI) following a motor vehicle stop at Central and Ayliffe. Gjevukaj was released to a sober adult. 

April 14: Craig Schaible, 47, of Cranford was arrested for DWI and resisting arrest/eluding following a motor vehicle stop at Boynton Avenue and Pearl Street. He was released on summonses.
