Police Blotter: Residents Report Attempted Burglaries, Cars Damaged, Graffiti at Tamaques

A look at police activity.

Two reports of attempted burglary at town residences, along with damage to two cars parked in town and the report of graffiti on Tamaques School dominated police activity over the past week.

July 14

Duquan Randolph, 25, of Plainfield was arrested at North Avenue and East Broad Street on a Toms River warrant.

July 15

Juliana Diaz, 19, of Hackensack was arrested on a $126 Essex Fells warrant during a motor vehicle stop at East Broad and Wychview. He was processed and released.

July 16

Antwan Wilson, 34, of Paterson was arrested on a $200 East Orange warrant, a $300 East Orange warrant, a $1000 Paterson warrant and a no bail warrant from the sheriff of Passaic County. He was placed in cell one in lieu of bail.

A resident of Jackson Township reported an act of criminal mischief to his car while it was parked on the 300 block of South Avenue East. An unknown actor damaged the driver's side door lock and handle. The damage is valued at $300. There were no witnesses.

July 17

Sherise Simmons of Roselle was arrested at East Broad and Park during a during a motor vehicle stop on an East Orange warrant.

A resident of West Broad Street reported being the victim of fraud involving a fraudulant job/employment offer from a social networking website.

A resident of the 500 block of Codding Road reported an attempted burglary. The basement window had apparently been kicked in. It is unknown if entry was gained to the house.

July 18

Patrol officers found graffiti on the back wall of Tamaques School. The graffiti was a large mural on the exterior wall along with other markings.

July 20

Jose Rivera, 46, of Bloomfield was arrested on warrants from Westfield, Woodbridge and Paterson. He was held on bail.

A resident of the 600 block of Scotch Plains Avenue reported an attempted burglary to their residence. The attempt occurred between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on July 20. The suspect attempted to gain entry by forcing open a partially open rear window and tearing holes in the screen. It is not believed that entry was gained.

July 21

A resident of the 700 block of Tamaques Way reported the theft of a package left by UPS on the front porch. The package is valued at $120.

July 22

Katherine Parson, 32, of Westfield was arrested on two Westfield warrants totaling $150.

Martin H. Spector, 57, of Westfield reported to police headquarters to satisfy a $296 Westfield warrant, a $229 Cranford warrant and a $131 Sayreville warrant. He was processed and released.

Luis Dasiquera, 25, of Kearny was arrested during a traffic stop at West Broad and Rahway. He was wanted on a 4300 Alpine warrant.

A resident of the 200 block of Lynn Lane reported an act of criminal mischief to their motor vehicle while it was parked on Lynn Lane. The vehicle's driver's side window was smashed, along with a dent in the driver's side door. The dent has visible shoe prints. The suspects are described by three to four teenage males in a white Subaru Outback. The damage is valued at $700.
