Police Blotter: Police Make Arrests

A look at crime in the last week.

The Westfield Police department was busy over the last week handling a variety of crime in town from warrant arrests to several lost and found situations. Here's a look.

Nov. 17

  • Aimee Junno, 46, of Westfield responded to police headquarters to handle a $200 Newark warrant. A court date is pending.

  • Virginia Bates, 23, of Roselle was arrested during a motor vehicle stop at South Avenue West and Cumberland Street. She was held in lieu of $350 bail.

Nov. 19

  • Neal D. Monroe, 31, of Jersey City was arrested on a $500 warrant from Roselle Park during a motor vehicle stop on South Avenue in Scotch Plains.
  • George S. Scott, 34, of Neptune was arrested on an Irvington warrant in the amount of $300 during a motor vehicle stop at 600 South Avenue West. He posted bail and was released.
  • Giovanni Cabrera, 32, of Elizabeth was arrested at a traffic stop on South Avenue West and Hort Street on four criminal warrants and two traffic warrants totaling $1149.

  • Crossing guard found a Visa debit card in the area of Westfield Avenue and Dorian Road. Attempts to contact the owner were unsuccessful and the property is being stored at the police department for safekeeping.

Nov. 21

  • Robert Simmons Jr., 28, of East Orange was arrested for DWI following a traffic stop at Rahway Avenue and First Street. He was released to a responsible adult.

Nov. 22

  • Bridget A. Cassidy, 46, of Westfield was arrested at West Broad Street and Scotch Plains Avenue on warrants from Fanwood, Livingston and Mount Laurel.
  • Two juveniles were arrested on Barchester Way after a motor vehicle stop for possession of under 50 grams of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. They were released to their parents and a court date will be announced.
  • Christopher Ferriera, 26, of Kenilworth was arrested after a traffic stop on a $364 warrant from Union Township.

Nov. 23

  • George A. Kiely, 35, of Summit was arrested on a $35 Clifton warrant after a motor vehicle stop in the area of Mountain Avenue and Lawrence Avenue.
  • Harry Noel-Jauna, 20, of Union Township reported to headquarters on a $116 Westfield warrant.

Nov. 24

  • A black/grey wallet with a Bank of America debit card and 61 cents in coins was found on the 1200 block of South Avenue West and turned in by a Westfield resident. The police have left a message for the owner.
