Police Blotter: Police Handle Warrant Arrests and Shop Lifting

A look at the week's crime report.

The Westfield Police handled a variety of crimes in the last week handling warrant arrests, receiving lost property and investigating a shop lifting case from the downtown business district.

Dec. 1

  • A resident of Basalt Court reported finding a woman's Movado watch on East Broad Street and Euclid and turned it into police.

  • Pamela Davis, 48, of Plainfield was arrested at police headquarters on a $308 Westfield warrant. Bail was posted.

Dec. 3

  • A resident of the 100 block of Elizabeth Avenue reported an attempted burglary to the residence. Entry was attempted by removing a screen and trying to pry the window open. The window would not open and damage was spotted on the window.

  • David Oxenford, 36, of Clark was arrested for DWI following a motor vehicle investigation at Central Avenue and Sussex Street.
  • Terrell Thomas, 22, of Elizabeth was arrested at South Avenue and Boulevard on a $580 Elizabeth warrant, a $500 Plainfield warrant and a $89 East Brunswick warrant.

Dec. 5

  • Ryan L. Davenport, 23, of Union was arrested during a traffic stop in Municipal Lot 8 on two Paterson warrants totaling $470 and a $99 warrant from Union City.

Dec. 6

  • A Mountainside resident found a green wallet in the area of Lawrence Avenue and Mountain Avenue. The police tried to contact the owner and then secured the wallet.

Dec. 7

  • A Westfield resident reported illegal use and fraud with her lost credit card. The card was lost with the wallet in a business on the 200 block of Elm Street.
  • A business of 700 block of Central Avenue reported the theft/shoplifting of $157 in cigarettes. The actor was last seen heading east on Myrtle Avenue.
