Police Blotter: Two DWI Arrests Made

The following information was obtained from the Westfield Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

Oct. 9: Zachery O’Brien, 22, of Warren was arrested and charged with possession of a controlled dangerous substance (CDS) following a motor vehicle stop at West South Avenue and Tuttle Parkway. He was released after being issued summonses with a court date set for Oct. 17.

Oct. 13: Thomas J. Smith, 23, of South Plainfield was arrested on an active Aberdeen traffic warrant for $150 pursuant to a motor vehicle stop on the 400 block of West North Avenue. He was transported to police headquarters, processed and released after posting bail.

Viera Bigosinski, 42, of Westfield, was arrested for driving while intoxicated pursuant to a motor vehicle accident investigation. She was transported to headquarters, processed and held on an unrelated charge.

Oct. 14: Thomas Hubbard, 39, of Keyport was arrested on two active traffic warrants, one from Clark, for $500, and the other from Elizabeth, for $280, pursuant to a motor vehicle stop at the traffic circle. He was transported to police headquarters, processed and released on his own recognizance on both warrants.

Charles Ross, 70, of Piscataway was arrested and charged with DWI pursuant to a motor vehicle stop on West Broad Street near Lamberts Mill Road. He was transported to police headquarters, processed and released to a responsible adult.

Jennifer Fetzer, 30, of Union was arrested and charged with DWI pursuant to a motor vehicle accident investigation on the 1000 block of West North Avenue. She was transported to police headquarters, processed and released to a responsible adult. 

Oct. 15: A resident of the 500 block of Pierson Street reported their bicycle stolen while it was parked on the 800 block of Rahway Avenue. The blue and white, BMX-style bicycle was not secured at the time of the theft. It is valued at approximately $150.

Oct. 16: A business on Cardinal Drive reported being the victim of an act of criminal mischief. The victim reported that unknown supsect(s) spray-painted a vehicle located on the property.

A resident of the 800 block of Birch Avenue reported being the victim of a fraud. Unknown suspect(s) gained access to the victim's account and charged $206.24. 

Oct. 17: John Berry, 31, of Clark, was arrested on an active warrant out of Westfield Municipal Court ($500) at the Somerville State Police Barracks. Berry was transported to headquarters, processed, and released on posted bail. 

Shatara M. Washington, 23, of Elizabeth, was arrested on an outstanding Westfield ATS warrant (bail $114) at Westfield Police Headquarters after being turned over to this agency by Union County Police.  Washington posted bail and was released.
