Police Blotter: DUI, Theft and Drug Possession

The following information was obtained from the Westfield Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

May 11 - Kathleen Donohue, 66, was arrested and charged with driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle accident/leaving the scene at East Broad and Elm Streets. Donohue was released to a responsible adult.

A resident of the 600 block of Fairfield Circle reported the theft of a leather bag. The bag was worth an estimated $1,200.  

May 12 - Frank McGlynn, 46, of Plainfield, was arrested for driving while intoxicated following a motor vehicle stop at South Avenue and Hort Street. McGlynn was released to a sober adult.

May 14 - A resident reported the theft of a wallet from the YMCA on Clark Street. Victim stated that the wallet was removed from a locker while the victim was using the weight room. The total value of the stolen property was $96. 

Police investigated an alleged theft on Plymouth Road by a moving company on the scene. The victim reported that a camera, several pieces of jewelry and several personal items were missing. During the investigation, Angel Roldan, 48, of Brooklyn, N.Y., was arrested for the possession of cocaine. Roldan was transported, processed and issued a summons with a court date. The investigation of the theft was turned over to the  Detective Bureau.

May 15 - Roberto Cartagena, 34, of Edison, was arrested at Central Avenue and Sycamore on the strength of an outstanding COC warrant out of South River ($378). Cartagena was released on his own recognizance after processing. 

May 16 - Nicole Parsons, 21, of Rahway, was arrested on an outstanding traffic warrant issued by Westfield Municipal Court ($150). Parsons was processed and placed in cell #1 in lieu of posting bail. 

A resident of the 1300 block of Grandview reported being the victim of a burglary. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry into residence and stole $1,600 worth of personal belongings. 

Ibraham Ali, 43, of Newark, was arrested on the strength of an outstanding warrant issued by the Westfield Municipal Court ($86). Ali was transported, processed and posted bail.

A Mountainside resident reported that unknown suspect(s) stole the victim's wallet while at . The wallet contained about $250 in cash and multiple credit cards. 

A resident of Palsted Avenue reported being the victim of criminal mischief. Unknown suspect(s) damaged the victim's car by smashing the front windshield and denting the trunk area. 

Klavsdiet Sonneberg, 23, of Cranford, was arrested during a motor vehicle stop at W. North Avenue and Clark Street on the strength of a criminal warrants issued by Pt. Pleasant Beach Police Department ($328) and Newark Police Department ($150). Sonneberg was transported, processed and released after posting bail.

Patricia Lyp, 40, of Medford, was arrested on an outstanding criminal warrant issued by the Springfield Municipal Court ($300) pursuant to a motor vehicle stop at East Broad Street and Central Avenue. Lyp was transported to headquarters, processed and released on posted bail.

A resident of the 200 block of Westfield Avenue reported being the victim of a theft while at. The resident reported that a $300 iPhone was stolen. 

May 17 - A resident of the 200 block of Seneca Place reported being the victim of a theft. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry to the victim's vehicle and stole a pocketbook, which contained $250 cash and one credit card.

Brandon West, 23, of Westfield, was arrested at police headquarters on the strength of two warrants for his arrest (total $130). West posted bail and was released. 

Ranessa Crosby, 26, of Roselle, was arrested pursuant to a motor vehicle stop at E. South Avenue and Cacciola Place on outstanding warrants issued by Cranford Police Department ($583) and North Plainfield ($92). Crosby was transported, processed and released after posting full cash bail.
