Police Blotter: March 24 - March 29

The following information was obtained from the Westfield Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

March 24 - Adam Lee, 23, of Point Pleasant, was arrested on an outstanding warrant ($250) issued by the Matawan Police Department. Lee posted bail and was released.

Christopher Conbon, 28, of Aberdeen, was arrested on an S207 warrant issued by the Sayreville Police Department, pursuant to a motor vehicle stop on the 600 block of W. South Avenue. Conbon was released on his own recognizance by Sayreville police and was given a court date.

A victim in the 300 block of Wells Street reports that an unknown suspect stole his identity and filed false tax returns in his name.

March 25 - Michael Cino, 38, of Toms River, was arrested on an outstanding warrant ($1,500) issued by the in Long Beach Island Township. Cino was transported to the Union County jail in lieu of cash bail.

Residents reported attempts of vehicular burglary on the 500 block of Carleton Road. Witnesses reported that two unknown suspects attempted to gain entry to a parked motor vehicle. Subjects fled the scene prior to entry. No damage was reported.

March 26 - Sajata Henry, 30, of Newark, was arrested on an outstanding warrant ($120) issued by the East Orange Police Department pursuant to a motor vehicle stop on the 600 block of Parkway Avenue. Henry was released on own recognizance with a court date.

Anthony Taylor, Jr., of Plainfield, was arrested for driving while intoxicated pursuant to a motor vehicle stop at the corner of W. Broad Street and South Avenue. He was released to a responsible party after being processed.

Michael Verrato, 31, of Garwood, was arrested on two outstanding warrants (total $185) issued by Dumont Police Department pursuant to a motor vehicle stop at East Broad Street and Gallows Hill Road. Verrato posted bail and was released.

Barbara Coello, 20 of Elizabeth, was arrested for the possession of CDS/less than 50 grams of marijuana pursuant to a motor vehicle stop at Central and Lenox Avenues. Coello also had an outstanding warrant for her arrest ($77). She was released with a summons on the possession charge and was released on her own recognizance by an Elizabeth Court regarding the outstanding warrant.

March 28 - Jonathan Chananie, 23, of Westfield, was arrested for possessing less than 50 grams of marijuana and possessing drug paraphernalia pursuant to a motor vehicle stop on the 400 block of W. North Avenue. Chananie was transported to the Westfield Police Department, processed and released.

A student at reported the theft of a black iPhone (value $400). The victim stated that he temporarily left the phone unattended on a desk and when he returned a short time later, the item was missing/stolen.

Jennifer Portal, 38, of Brick, was arrested on the 600 block of W. North Avenue for shoplifting. Portal was processed and released.
