Crime is moving to the great outdoors with a resident reporting that a tree on their lawn was dug out of the ground and stolen during the overnight hours.

May 3

A resident of the 300 block of Brightwood reported that unknown individuals stole an iPhone from her car. The value is reported at $700.

A resident of the 100 block of Winchester Way reported being the victim of check fraud in the amount of $340.

May 6

Bruce Fallinene, 60, of Garwood was arrested on a $500 Westfield warrant. Bail was posted and he was released. 

May 7

A theft occurred from a motor vehicle parked on the 300 block of South Avenue East. A passport was stolen.

Gennando Dejesus, 30, of Scotch Plains was arrested on Westfield, Woodbridge and Clark warrants, totaling $2700. He was also charged with possession of a fraudulent driver’s license following a stop at Central and Sycamore. 

May 8 

Ralph Rotondo was arrested on active warrant during a motor vehicle stop at Central and Clover. He was processed and released.

May 9

Ray Novaris, 63, of Union Township was arrested for possession of prescription medication following a motor vehicle stop. He was processed and released. 

May 10

A resident of the 600 block of Carleton Road reported the theft of a red peony tree between 11 p.m. on May 9 and 7 a.m. on May 10 from their property. The tree was uprooted and removed and the value is $250. The incident is under investigation by the detective bureau.

Jose Montanez of Linden was arrested for DWI following a motor vehicle stop on the 600 block of North Avenue West. He was processed and released.

A resident of Bronxville, NY reported being the victim of identity theft. The victim said an unknown amount of money has been used. 

A resident of the 600 block of Dorian Road reported being the victim of credit/ATM fraud. The victim said $1006 was removed from her account.

May 13

Sara Christina Gonzalez, 48, of Green Brook was arrested for DWI. She was processed and released.
