Police Blotter: Car Break-Ins Continue

The following information was obtained from the Westfield Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

June 3 – Rubercy Guzman, 35, of Plainfield, was arrested during a motor vehicle stop at South Avenue and Crossway Place on an active North Plainfield warrant. Guzman posted $374 bail and was released.

June 8 – Edwin Reid, 35, of Scotch Plains, was arrested during a motor vehicle stop on an outstanding warrant issued by Westfield Municipal Court. Reid was transported to headquarters, processed and released after posting $500 bail.

Jennifer Meyer, 26, of Plainfield, was arrested on a criminal warrant issued by Westfield Municipal Court pursuant to prisoner pick-up at Somerset County Jail. Meyer was transported to headquarters, processed and placed in cell #2 in lieu of $324 bail.

A Fanwood resident reported being the victim of a theft while on Linden Avenue. The victim reported the theft of $800 worth of electronic equipment.

A resident reported being the victim of theft to his motor vehicle while it was parked on the 800 block of Carleton Road. The victim reported that a Sony car stereo was removed from the vehicle.

A resident of Trinity Place reported being the victim of a theft. Unknown suspect stole $1,200 cash from the victim while at a location on Central Avenue.

A resident of the 600 block of Maye Street reported being the victim of a theft. Unknown suspect(s) gained entry to the victim’s vehicle and stole a laptop worth $800.

June 9 – Cassandra Depina-Veiga, of Roselle, was arrested on an outstanding Westfield warrant. Subject was released after being processed and posting $114 bail.

Steven Jones, 41, of Edison, was arrested on the strength of an outstanding warrant for his arrest out of Westfield ($114). Jones was arrested and processed.

Leena Das was arrested on an outstanding warrant out of Rahway. She was processed and released after posting bail.

Jennifer Whitaker, 45, of Piscataway, was arrested for driving while intoxicated pursuant to an investigation at Central Avenue and Raritan Road. Whitaker was transported to headquarters, processed and released to a responsible adult.

June 10 – A business located on the 100 block of Central Avenue reported being the victim of a theft. A suspect removed items from the store and left without paying. The stolen items were valued at $300.

June 12 – Dwight Keane, 46, of Maplewood, was arrested on two warrants during a motor vehicle stop at North Avenue and East Broad Street. One warrant was a no-bail sheriff’s fugitive warrant. The other warrant was an ATS warrant out of Irvington. Keane was turned over to the Essex County Sheriff’s Department.
