Police Blotter: Jewelry Stolen From Business, Resident Victim of Credit Card Fraud

A look at the week in crime.

A report of credit card fraud and theft from a local business top the week in crime. In addition to the theft and fraud cases, police handled a variety of routine warrant arrests.

March 8

Joseph Lockhart, 33, of Linden was arrested at the Essex County Jail on a $1500 Westfield warrant.

Joseph Lockhart, 33, of Linden was arrested at the Essex County Jail on a $1200 Linden warrant, a $500 Roselle warrant and a $800 Plainfield warrant.

March 10

Santos Perez, 29, of Jersey City as arrested following a motor vehicle accident for giving false information to hinder his apprehension. An investigation revealed a $688 Florham Park warrant. Bail was set at $1500 on the Westfield case.

March 13

A resident of the 1000 block of North Avenue West called police to report being the victim of credit card fraud. The resident found charges they had not made.

March 15

John Byrnes, 27, of Sewaren was arrested at a motor vehicle stop on a $250 Woodbridge warrant

March 16

A business on the 500 block of Springfield Avenue reportd the theft of jewelry from the display case between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. The jewelry is valued at $169.99 and there are no suspects.

March 17

Marrella Amjaoy, 26, of Westfield was arrested for DWI during a motor vehicle stop at Boynton and Roger.
