Police Blotter: Fords' Resident Arrested on $3436 in Warrants

A look at the week in crime.

Westfield police have dealt with a slow period in the last week, with mostly routine minor warrant arrests and drug crimes dominating police activity. Many of the warrant arrests are similar to the routine warrant arrests which follow motor vehicle stops in town.

April 14

Nicholas Mechione, 29, of Hoboken was arrested at North Avenue and Chestnut Street for possessin of a controlled dangerous substance.

April 16

Darris Martin of Elizabeth was arrested on a Westfield warrant. He was processed and released.

Richard Collsor, 39, of Westfield was arrested at Rahway Avenue and Summit Court for DWI.

Kyle DiSmith, 39, of Westfield was arrested at West Grove Street and Central Avenue during a traffic stop on a $165 Fanwood warrent. He posted bail.

April 19

Joseph Kobuto, 35, of Fords was arrested at the New Brunswick police department for a $2510 Westfield warrant, a $794 East Brunswick warrant and a $132 Franklin Township warrant. He was held of default of bail and transported to the Union County jail.
