Police Blotter: August 22 - 28, 2012
The following information was obtained from the Westfield Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.
August 23 – Abdul Randolph, 42, of East Orange, was arrested during an investigation at Boynton Avenue and Sycamore Street. Randolph was wanted by East Orange Police Department on a criminal warrant with bail set at $1,000 and by Paterson Police Department on a traffic warrant with bail set at $350. Randolph was transferred to headquarters, processed and held for pick-up by East Orange Police Department.
Officers responded to the 1100 block of Columbus Avenue after a resident reported that suspects were attempting to break into motor vehicles. While searching the area, officers. The two subjects were subsequently arrested for burglary and theft of a motor vehicle. They were transported to headquarters, processed and released to responsible adults. The matter is currently under investigation.
August 26 – James Walker, 48, of Perth Amboy, was arrested on the strength of a no-bail warrant issued by Union County Sheriff’s Department and a criminal warrant issued by Perth Amboy Municipal Court ($350) pursuant to an investigation at South and Summit Avenues. Walker was transported to headquarters, processed and held in lieu of bail.

August 27 – A resident of Sandra Circle reported being victim of criminal mischief. Unknown suspect(s) scratched the victim’s car, causing damage to the vehicle.
A resident of the 100 block of Scotch Plains Avenue reported the theft of their bicycle after it was left unsecured on the North Avenue side of the train station between the hours of 6:45 a.m. and 7 p.m. The black Cannondale Hooligan bicycle with red handlebars is valued at about $800. There are no suspects or witnesses.

Alexander Hay, 18, was arrested for driving while intoxicated pursuant to a motor vehicle crash at Clark Street and Brightwood Avenue. Hay was transported, processed and released to a sober adult.
A resident of the 600 block of Scotch Plains Avenue reported the theft of their jewelry. The theft occurred some time between 3 p.m. on August 12 and 7 a.m. on August 22. The perpetrator removed a diamond-studded white gold pendant from a box in the victim’s bedroom closet. The pendant is valued at $9,500. There were no signs of forced entry and only family members reside at the residence.
