Westfield Residents Report Mischief and Thefts

The following information was obtained from the Westfield Police Department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

April 6 - Makesha Holmes, 25, of Plainfield, responded to the t to satisfy an active traffic warrant that had been issued by the Westfield Municipal Court. Holmes was processed and released after posting $114 cash bail. 

Christopher Palazzo, 49, of South Plainfield, was arrested during an investigation on the 400 block of W. North Avenue on a criminal warrant issued by the Long Branch Municipal Court with a bail set at $146. Palazzo was also wanted on criminal charges from the states of Florida, North Carolina and Louisiana. These warrants were no bail warrants issued by each jurisdiction. All three states would not extradite Palazzo for their respective criminal charges. Subject posted $146 bail for the Long Branch warrant and was released. 

A resident of the 100 block of Pearl Street reported that an act of criminal mischief was committed to their residence between April 1 and April 6. Unknown suspect(s) shattered a rear sliding glass door with a gold-colored BB, which was recovered on scene. The amount of damage is unknown.

Ashley Dietz, 25, of Staten Island, NY, was arrested for driving while intoxicated pursuant to a motor vehicle accident investigation on the 2000 block of Grandview Avenue. Dietz was transported to headquarters, processed and turned over to a responsible adult. 

April 10 - A report of theft on the 700 block of Westfield Avenue. Unknown suspect(s) took $150 in cash.

April 11 - A report of burglary/theft to a motor vehicle on the 100 block of Summit Court. Unknown suspect(s) entered unlocked vehicle and removed an iPod and $60 cash. Total value of stolen material was $260.
